In the light of the result of recent market survey, the overall satisfaction of H&F MP3 players is lower than its major competitor, iGADGET MP3 player. As requested, the report aims to identify the main causes of lower overall satisfaction and provide possible recommendations to improve the situation. The report begins with investigation into those 4 aspects with lower satisfaction level. It concludes with suggestions.

The findings for this analysis are based upon market survey carried out with consumers in April 2011. A total of 1,000 consumers were interviewed and asked to complete a questionnaire on six aspects: design, functions, sound quality, battery life, headphone quality and overall satisfaction.Also, the result of market share from March 2011 to February 2011 are contributed to analyze the situation.

3.1 Overview
According to Attachment1, six aspects were evaluated. Lower satisfaction was presented in four main causes: design, functions, headphone quality. As the result, market share is low.
3.2 Design
Compared to iGADGET MP3 player (86%), under a half of customers are satisfied with H&F MP3 player design. One possible cause of this is that it only has limited choice of color providing to customers. In addition, its size seems to be too big that results in overweight. It implicates that customers feel the deign is not attractive and is very difficult to carry out.
3.3 Functions
Customers have much lower satisfaction with H&F MP3 player's function (37%) than iGADGET's (63%). One reason for this matter is that it is complex to transfer music file on H&F. Transfer of music files onto H&F MP3 players requires a software program that must be installed on the user's computer. This can lead to inconvenience to the MP3 users.
3.4 Headphone Quality
Only a third of users are contented with the headphone quality. This may be attributed to low quality control as the MP3 players are made in Malaysia. In Malaysia, it does not have strict quality inspection to monitor the production process.The effect of this might be affecting its brand reputation.
3.5 Market Share
The general trend of market share of H&F MP3 players is declining compared to constantly increasing in iGADGET MP3 player. It seems the result of unattractive design, functions, poor headphone quality. In addition to these causes, unpopular spokesperson is attributed to the decreasing market share. The reason is that Felix Chan has been the celebrity spokesperson promoting H&F MP3 players for three years. Our customers want something fresh. It implicates that its customers will turn into other brands.

5.3 Headphone Quality
Since we have a problem with unsatisfactory headphone quality, we could invest more resources on improving production process, such as provides more training to staff and restructures production process.
